About the teacher
Arthur specialises as a composer, performer and artistic director in interdisciplinary music theatre.
With his own company, Sounds Like Juggling, he creates performances at the intersection of music theatre and new circus, in which sound and music are created through juggling. He does this using self-built instruments and custom software: special shakers, buzzing sticks, as well as sensor-equipped balls, live sampling and throwable microphones. Sounds Like Juggling performs everywhere, from theatres to street festivals.
Arthur composed the music for two performances by Circus Treurdier, Baaaaa and Wendy Pan. He also worked as choir rehearsal director for these productions.
From 2000 to 2025, Arthur was a keyboardist, composer and co-artistic director of Susies Haarlok, at the time Orkater's first Nieuwkomer, with whom we worked together for many years. He has also collaborated with Veenfabriek, Tafel van Vijf and Young Gangsters.
Arthur is the founder and former conductor of New Moon Orchestra, in which amateurs and professionals with roots all over the world come together to perform music from each other's home countries.
