About the teacher
Aljosja Buijs studied piano and chamber music in Arnhem and Amsterdam.
Aljosja has a great passion for contemporary music and crossover programmes. In his chamber music and solo performances, he is always looking for new connections in music. He has been playing with Orkest De Ereprijs for more than 25 years. With around forty concerts a year, always featuring world premieres by numerous composers, the orchestra holds an important place in the contemporary music scene. The list of composers who have written for the orchestra is extensive and includes Louis Andriessen, Martijn Padding, Tansy Davies, Klaas de Vries and Hanna Kulenty. The orchestra has worked with artists and ensembles including Elizabeth Hetherington, Severin von Eckardstein, PHION, Ellen ten Damme and Fresku.
