Why choose the Pre-Academy Art & Design in Arnhem?
Gap year
Ideal for combining with a gap year and a part-time job. You will have classes at the academy two days per week and spend one day per week working on your homework assignments.
21+ test
If you don't have a HAVO (general secondary) or MBO 4 (intermediate vocational) diploma and you are 20-21 years old, you can do a 21+ test and also sit the admission exam for one of the bachelor's courses via the Pre-Academy.
Study try out
At the end of period 2, you do a study try out on a course of your choice: BEAR Fine Art, Design Art Technology, Fine Art and Design in Education, Fashion Design, Graphic Design or Product Design.
Top facilities
You will follow workshops, such as screen printing and photography, to give you an introduction to some of the facilities.
Well prepared
You will be well prepared for a course in art education. You will learn to look at reality in a different way and build a portfolio, which will allow you to sit the admission exam at the conclusion of the Pre-Academy.

What is the difference between the Pre-Academy and the Art & Design Preparatory Course and the Art & Design Orientation Course?
The Pre-Academy Art & Design is much more intensive and at the end you do a study try out on a bachelor’s course of your choice.
