Co-founder The Big Idea
Neil Wallace has many years of experience as a curator, catalyst and developer of large and small-scale projects in the performing arts. He was head of Programming at De Doelen Rotterdam, is co-founder and artistic director of the Koorbiënnale Haarlem, and developed projects for Tramway Cardiff and Glasgow Cultural Capital. He is co-founder of The Big Idea, developing one large-scale site-specific stage project each year.
Consultant entrepreneurship and education at the Art Business Centre of ArtEZ
Tamara Rookus is an educator, researcher, and concept developer in the field of creative entrepreneurship and cultural heritage. From her practice as a graphic designer she has developed into an expert in training other creatives in business skills.
Lloyds Company, Roots & Routes, SKVR Brassband School
Jade Schiff is a cultural anthropologist and an experienced manager in the cultural sector, f.i. for Lloyds Company of choreographer Lloyd Marengo and for talent development organization Roots & Routes, where she initiated and organized international projects in the field of spoken word and urban dance & theater. Since 2018 she is coordinator of the SKVR Brassbandschool, the only one of its kind in the Netherlands.
Co-founder Le Guess Who?
Johan Gijsen’s was music programmer at TivoliVredenburg, where he resigned in 2017 to turn his focus entirely to Le Guess Who?, the music festival he co-founded in 2007. Gijsen has an ongoing personal drive to enthuse people for the more cutting-edge, adventurous and underrepresented music.
Co-founder of Futurability
After completing her theater studies at the University of Utrecht Denise Harleman worked as a business leader with various theater companies, including four years as business director at Adelheid & Zina. She is a co-founder of FUTURABILITY (2018). In addition, Denise advises organizations in the field of strategy and management and she is a lecturer in (financial) management and (creative) entrepreneurship at the AHK.
Theater and music producer
Theater producer with extensive marketing experience. Wolter is an entrepreneur in arts and entertainment with national focus and an international network. He is specialized in bringing a broad range of performing arts to larger audiences. Truly believes in partnering up with likeminded entrepreneurs and creatives to make the impossible happen, both outside on exciting locations and in theaters.
Johan Dorrestein, director Cello Biennale Amsterdam
Experienced business director who has explored new areas in Dutch music life. For eighteen years he was the business director of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, which developed into a rich production company during that period. He is also one of the founders of Splendor, director of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam and a member of the board of Musicians without Borders. He studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Mijke Loeven became director of the Bimhuis Amsterdam in 2017. She strongly contributed to a solid foundation and infrastructure for jazz in Rotterdam in her roles as director of Jazz International Rotterdam and of North Sea Round Town. Loeven studied vocal jazz at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
General and artistic director Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ
Maarten van Boven was deputy director of Paradiso (2003-2012) before he became director of the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ: one of the founding partners of the research and development network ‘Rhizome’. ‘A music sector that comes to a standstill or a sector that is revitalized by the boundless energy of a new generation? Rhizome chooses the latter’.
Mirjam Zegers was Programme Leader of the ArtEZ Master of Music Programming (2009-2013), which she developed and led together with Neil Wallace. She developed extensive experience in (inter)national music life in her work for composer Louis Andriessen, music publisher Donemus, as a consultant in European cooperation projects and in her activities as a board member.
