For the School of Acting in Arnhem, ArtEZ is looking for enterprising future actors and actresses who constantly want to improve artistically. In addition, you have to meet certain qualifications and language requirements.
All our courses have language requirements. You will need to prove your language proficiency by handing in a certificate stating your level. The level for School of Acting is:
After applying in Studielink, you will receive a link to a digital questionnaire. Subsequently, you will receive an email from us with a written assignment. If you submit the questionnaire and the assignment before the deadline of 10 November 2019, you will receive a confirmation of your participation in our selection Saturday.
To be admitted to the School of Acting, you must participate in the selection procedure, consisting of three rounds.
In the first audition round, the lecturers will work with the candidates in groups over an entire day. You will receive a number of monologues by way of preparation. If you continue the selection week you must prepare some other assignments.
In the second and third round you will also work together with lecturers in groups. You should choose two monologues to work with and prepare a Dutch-language song.
Candidates must be available throughout the entire week. On Wednesday afternoon, an interim evaluation will take place. The lecturers will give a binding recommendation at that time (giving reasons for their decision) regarding whether you will continue the selection week or not. For those who continue, the definitive result will be given on Saturday.
First round( selection day): (Saturday 11, 18 and 25 January are full), Wednesday 29 January, Saturday 1 Februariy (full), Wednesday 5 February and Saturday 8 February 2020 (full).
Please note: Registering for the School of Acting (2020-2021) is no longer possible, the maximum number of participants in the selection has been reached.
Second and third round (selection week): 2 until 6 March 2020, definitive result on Saturday 7 March.
During the selection process, we will give you insight into our assessment regarding your suitability for the course. During the selection week (second and third rounds), an interim evaluation will take place on Wednesday afternoon, during which time the admission committee will give a binding recommendation regarding whether you will continue the selection week or not along with the reasons for their decision. The definitive result of the third audition round will be given on Saturday.
Admission is only valid for the course for which you have enrolled. If you wish to apply for admission to a study programme or specialisation at another location you must register for this separately. The admission is only valid for the academic year directly following the entrance examination.
