‘Arnhem’ fashion designer duo Viktor & Rolf are knighted

This Thursday, fashion designers Viktor & Rolf were knighted in the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands.The deputy mayor of Amsterdam

They were knighted on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fashion brand Viktor & Rolf. The duo, alumni of ArtEZ Fashion Design in Arnhem, have for years been recognised as two of the most prestigious Dutch fashion designers.
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren got to know each other in Arnhem at the Academy of Art. After graduating, they left for Paris. In 1993, they won all the prizes at the prestigious talent competition Salon Européen des Jeunes Stylistes.

State of Fashion
With their designs, the duo also earned a place for themselves in the art world. They exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. This summer, the Kunsthal in Rotterdam hosted a retrospective exhibition to mark their 25th anniversary.

In Arnhem, work by Viktor & Rolf was shown at the fashion exhibition ‘State of Fashion’ in the former dairy plant of Coberco.
