In the music theatre performance ROOD, four women explore the relationship between mothers and their daughters, daughters and their mothers. Painfully loving, stormy, breathtaking, and always complex. Music and compositional texts tell a story of resemblance, expectation, and resistance.
We follow daughters preparing for their own lives, while the echo of their mother remains with them. Daughters who may one day become mothers themselves—who want to do that in their own way—but who fear that, more than they would like to admit, they resemble the very person they tried so long to break free from.
A performance for everyone who was ever a child. And for everyone who became a mother, or wants to become one.

Between 19 January and 1 February 2026, the finalists of the Music Theatre programme of the of ArtEZ Conservatorium Arnhem will play their graduation performances at the Jacobiberg.
Most ArtEZ Conservatorium Arnhem graduation performances are free to attend.
