Our digital workshop is equipped with CNC milling machines and laser cutters. The laser cutter is suitable for triplex (up to 6 mm thick), plastic, fabrics, leather, paper and cardboard. We don’t laser-cut PVC or MDF, as they release hazardous fumes. The milling machine is frequently used to process MDF and multiplex. You can purchase materials from the central workshop’s shop.
Access to the digital workshop is by appointment only. Please always bring the original file (e.g. the Illustrator file) and a DXF file with you. Make sure you bring suitable materials to your appointment. Do not leave the machine unattended during milling or lasering.
If you need support, please contact Bart Bekker – available from Mondays to Thursdays. Bram Otten, instructor at ArtEZ Academy of Architecture, is available on Fridays and Saturdays. The workshop is open to all students on Fridays and Saturdays, but Architecture students will be served first.
