The programs within the academy are characterized by education aimed at the individual. The development and strengthening of one's artistic and cultural signature is reflected in all programs. Innovation, entrepreneurship and research are also themes that characterize the theater and dance courses.

Back in time
The academy has many predecessors such as the Dance Academy (up to 2017) and the Academy for Theater (up to 2017). The roots lie with the Arnhem dance school of Winja Marova, founded at the end of the 1930s. In 1968 this training received an official status. The training was classically oriented. In the 1980s, the school became part of the College of the Arts, later ArtEZ. With the arrival of Hlíf Svavarsdóttir in 1991, the profile has been transformed into the contemporary field of work. In 2000, the academy merged with the European Dance Development Center.

The Toneelschool was founded in 1956. The wall of fame in the Theatrium in Arnhem where the lessons of the training are given shows group photos of all years in a row. You can also view digitally.
