Dance and music: within all their differences they share one essential similarity ... that they both use the space, the three-dimensional space within which to work and resound. For the dancer, part of their work is to bring about the highest level the music can be and for the music the same for the dance. Each enabling the other to ´shine´. And for both musicians and dancers the work with improvised creation is to attend selflessly to the piece being made; perceiving what it is becoming and making fluid instant choices to allow the total to be of the highest level possible. with these elements in mind we will guide both the musicians and dancers along a path towards gaining tools and experience which might permit them to enrich their making of instant pieces for performance.

Julyen Hamilton has been involved with poetry since childhood, writing constantly since 14. Subsequently training and working as a choreographer and dancer, he has produced scores of solo dances in which text plays a central role; text which is composed on stage at the time of the performance and thus essentially from a body and mind in motion - a physicality in action and rhythm.
Wilbert de Joode taught himself to play the double bass. His investigations of extremes in sound production and register resulted in a move away from the mere accompanying role traditionally ascribed to the double bass. Combined with a keen intuition for the processes involved in (free) improvised music, this meant that he early on found a place among the leading musicians in that genre.
