Exhumation of the Corpse of Home and its Mending

“My body is a home built on insecure foundation. The windows are dark and smashed in. Tender memories linger in the chaos. It flows and melts like a tar roof in the sun. We float in the mass together.”

Fear looms over the sacred heart. The heart of a pig is genetically closest to that of a human’s

Geri Fako (Gergely Imre Fákó, 1997, Budapest) is a multi-disciplinary artist working mainly with analog photography, painting and installations. In his work, Fako constructs encounters with memory tapping into his Hungarian heritage but also into shared human history. The individual images that are often parts of morphing installations often drip, melt and crumble into each other as they flow in between past, present and future. But a faint memory of decay always lingers over everything with the ‘home’ as a central character in the work.
