Countless ArtEZ students and alumni will showcase their work during Uitnacht Arnhem on Friday, January 26th. There is a lot to see, from performances to exhibitions, and from concerts to poetry. Will you be there?

Here's a glimpse of the program:

Performances from students in Arthouse

First and second-year students of the master's course Performance Practices will continuously showcase performances at Arthouse next to Café Nelson between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM.

Poetry by Creative Writing alumni at Plaatsmaken

Terra van Dorst, Levine Aviya, and Ettie Edens, all Creative Writing alumni, will recite poems at Plaatsmaken in two sessions at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. Terra van Dorst has made a special poem for the Uitnacht.

Open mic Werkplaats Typografie, Agnietenplaats 2

Open mic ‘for the… sentimental and sensitive construction workers' is an experimental theatrical playground exploring the stage as a setting for graphic and text based perfomativity. Featuring: custom fragrances, liquified field recordings, dutch Shakespeare translations, and colour theory poetry, at Werkplaats Typografie 17:00–19:00.

Architecture at Sportsbar 't Huys

Last year, Nafthali van der Toorn and Robin Beers graduated from the master's course Architecture with a spatial project that also incorporates spoken word and theater. For the Uitnacht Arnhem, they collaborated with theater maker Nina Goedegebure to create a unique performance based on their graduation work. The performance can be seen at 20:00 and 21:30 in Sportsbar 't Huys, followed by a discussion.

Music theatre at Rozet

The Music Theatre group Chordslip, consisting of third-year students Tycho Nomes, Brecht Hekkema, and Jovan Smilda, will perform at Rozet. Joy Bijster and Britt van Tooren will also shine during the Uitnacht at Rozet in Arnhem!

Design and visual arts at Risowiso

Risowiso (aka Corine van der Wal, alumnus Graphic Design) and Ide André, alumnus BEAR Fine Art, present the unique riso publication "Crackling Gum on my Tongue" with an essay by Barbara Collé. Special edition prints will also be on display. To spice up the evening, various DJs will provide semi-danceable tunes, along with exotic treats from the oyster bar of artist Mischa Doorenweerd.

Dance at the Koepelkerk

During Uitnacht Arnhem, the Koepelkerk transforms into a dance haven with performances by students from Dance Artist (7:55 PM and 9:06 PM) and Artisteducator in Dance (8:20 PM). From modern to hip-hop and from duets to large groups of dancers.

Documentaire Scalabor, Introdans & Dance Artist in Focus Filmtheater

Students from Dance Artist danced with employees of Scalabor, a development company working with individuals at a distance from the job market. Under the direction of Adriaan Luteijn, artistic manager, and choreographer of Introdans, students and employees collaborated on a choreography and dance performance. A valuable project, documented in a film to be screened at Focus Filmtheater.

School of Acting

First-year students from the School of Acting reprise a part of the annual Christmas play during The Big Surprise Show at Huis Oostpool. Mike Zanting is also there with a scene from 'The Little Gay Mermaid'!

Artisteducator in Theatre

Students from the third and fourth year of Artisteducator in Theatre present scenes from the module Heterarchy during The Big Surprise Show at Huis Oostpool.

Various collectives emerging from the Artisteducator in Theatre bachelor's course showcase their work at Huis Oostpool. Collective SAD PEOPLE, consisting of Violet Munstermann, Luna Borggreve, Lerenzo Gortmans, Juultje Schmidhamer, and Yentl Staller, perform a piece from their show BOL.

Alumni Steven Dinkgreve, Nelly Patist, Ruben Westendorp, Veerle Smit (Artisteducator in Theatre), and Rosa Berman (Music Theatre) form the collective CLUB5. At Huis Oostpool, they give a preview of their new production SPACE RODEO.

Fashion Lounge 025

Come to the Fashion Lounge at Rozet and view the work of the Fashion Design students: on film, you'll see their Collection Arnhem and an expo of their Toile-de-Luxe 2024. State of Fashion gives you a preview of the upcoming fashion biennale with the theme Ties that Bind, and you can macramé, braid, knit, or knot at the installation Does it have an end?. With Made In___, the second-year master students of Critical Fashion Practices, together with Museum Arnhem, visualize the world journey that encompasses all the components of a garment.
