Maria Ramos
Born in Portugal 1976, is based in Lisbon. Maria works as an independent choreographer & dancer and since 2008 begun teaching choreographic creation and composition, developing her own teaching practice, which she frames as ‘movement dramaturgy’.
Studied dance and choreography in Portugal, UK and the Netherlands; received her MA at the ArtEZ Master programme in choreography Dance Unlimited (DU) in 2008.
She danced and collaborated (and still does) with different dance companies and independent choreographers, underlining the work with choreographer/director Angus Balbernie (USA, UK); Janis Claxton Dance (UK); Katja F. M. Wolf and Olga Pona Dance Company (Tanzhaus die Werkstatt Düsseldorf).
Maria is currently presenting her choreographic work ‘Nerves Like Nylon’.
