PROGRAMME
How is the programme structured?
A period of 6 to 8 consecutive weeks of teaching (between the end of August and October of both year 1 and 2), including seminars, workshops, reading sessions, presentations and individual and group tutorials. (In the second year this may be reduced to a period of 4 to 5 consecutive weeks).
A period of 1 or 2 consecutive weeks (right before Christmas of year 1 and 2) and a period of 2 to 4 weeks (right after Christmas holidays in January of both year 1 and 2). These may involve collaborations with other MA programmes, symposia, seminars, reading sessions, and workshops, in and/or outside Arnhem.
A choreographic residency in year 1 and one in year 2. These usually take place in the second semester of year 1 and 2, and are allocated according to the need of each artist/student.
Additionally, each artist/student develops an independent research plan in dialogue with the head of programme and a mentor.
Evaluations occur throughout the year. Assessments, however, usually occur in late January, late May and early-mid June.

Juliana Atuesta,
Master Choreography
"For me, this programme is interesting because of the relationship between writing and doing. The choreographic approach is the link between theory and practice.”
“I’ve learned to articulate a personal artistic identity. Talking about it, doing it and branding it have helped me to create a complete profile of myself as a professional choreographer.”
